Clay Bavor, Google Labs division head, is leaving Google to start an
AI company
with former Salesforce co-CEO Brett Taylor, who left that company last month.
Their AI company is expected to begin in March 2023.

in charge of Google’s shift from VR to smartphone AR as Apple prepared to do more AR with the iPhone.

Bavor announced via a Linkedin
post
that he’s leaving Google after 18 years.
- He led Google’s XR strategy for more than six years.
- According to Google, Bavor’s position will not be filled, and AR efforts will move partly to hardware lead Rick Osterloh.
