Nvidia announced its mid-range GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card , which starts at $599 and ships on Thursday.

It is the least expensive GPU in Nvidia's popular RTX 40 series of graphics processing units (GPUs), which are geared toward gamers.

The new RTX 4070 is a successor to Nvidia's RTX 3060, which was the fourth most popular gaming chip based on Steam survey data from March.
The RTX 4070 uses Nvidia's Ada Lovelace architecture and can deliver 1440p gaming at over 100 frames per second with AI-enabled DLSS 3 frame generation and ray tracing turned on.
DLSS 3, which is only available in RTX 40-series cards, boosts frame rates significantly using artificial intelligence frame generation technology.
RTX 4070 starts at $599 for the Founders Edition single-fan model.
The other GPUs in the lineup include the $1,599 RTX 4090, $1,199 RTX 4080, and $799 RTX 4070 Ti.
